Oak Brook College: Juris Doctor Tuition and Expenses

Tuition for the juris doctor degree program is currently $4,000 per year. This amount is subject to review and alteration by the College from year to year. Any alteration in the tuition amount will be clearly stated in the enrollment agreement. Tuition is payable in full at the beginning of each year, or a ten-month payment plan option may be utilized. If the student uses the optional payment plan, there is an additional $75 per year processing fee.

The College currently charges a $56 registration fee to cover the processing of the enrollment materials and payments. There is a $50 media fee for lectures which are received in an MP3 format on a CD. Applicants are charged a nonrefundable $35 application fee that must be included with the application.

Students have access to LEXIS-NEXIS and Westlaw online legal research services. Access to these services is  offered during all four years of the program. Students pay a Technology Fee of $100 per year that defrays the cost of these and other electronic services provided by the College.

Tuition does not include transportation, housing or meals during the college conferences. College conferences include: orientation, FYLSX (baby bar) review and elective workshops. The conference facility currently charges $54 per night double occupancy (includes meals). There is a $100 fee per conference. The Graduation Fee is $300 for those who choose to attend graduation.

The following fees are related to the students’ legal studies, but are not paid directly to Oak Brook College. They are the responsibility of each student (fees current as of August 20, 2009):

At this time, the College does not provide students with financial aid and does not participate in any student loan programs. The College reserves the right to reevaluate the fee structures from year to year and to change them at its discretion.

Students can choose to pay the tuition and fees for each year in full or use the Student Payment Plan. If paying in full each year, payment can be made by check, money order or credit card (A $75 processing fee will be charged if paying by credit card). Payments for first year classes will not be processed until August 1st of the class year being enrolled.

The Student Payment Plan allows you to pay for one year of study over a 10-month period, generally starting the month coursework begins. There is a $75 processing fee when this option is used. The first payment includes the fees listed above ($206), a $7.50 processing fee, and one-tenth of the yearly tuition cost. Currently, the first payment is $613.50, followed by nine monthly payments of $407.50 for a total cost of $4,281.00.

Oak Brook college accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express credit cards. Debit cards are acceptable if they have the Visa or Mastercard logo on them. No checks or money orders are accepted for the Student Payment Plan. If a student wishes to use the Student Payment Plan, the student must choose from the options listed. No other payment plans are accepted.
