9. English-language proficiency
All applicants are required to have a recognised qualification in English (IELTS or TOEFL). A recognised qualification is either an overall score of at least 7.0 in Academic IELTS with a minimum score of 6.5 for reading and of 6.0 for writing; or a score of 650 in TOEFL (280 in the computerised test; 114-115 in the internet-based test). IELTS test report forms should be sent directly from the test centre to the MA LLL Consortium Office.

Applicants who are unable to provide evidence of English-language proficiency in the form of an IELTS or TOEFL test by the stated deadline (31 December 2008), should indicate the date when the required documentation will be provided.
Applicants who do not fulfil the above-stated English language requirements may be admitted to the MA LLL on the condition that they complete a course, including a test, in English for academic purposes at their own expense. This applies to applicants who marginally fail to fulfil the required English-language test score. Applicants whose test score is significantly below the above-stated requirements will not be admitted to the MA LLL.
Alternative evidence of English language proficiency – degrees
First degrees obtained in a country where English is the official language by applicants for whom English is not their official language (mother tongue) may be accepted in lieu of the approved IELTS/TOEFL score. However, such degrees should have been obtained in the recent past (i.e. within four years of the proposed date of admission to the European Masters in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management). Acceptance is based on an individual assessment.
SELECTION RESULT
